City of Tagum, Davao del Norte – With only days to count before students go on their summer break as the school year ends, City of Tagum Mayor Rey T. Uy intensified the distribution of school chairs this week with a total of 1,078 pieces of armchairs, desks and kiddie chairs given to three Municipalities in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley Provinces, respectively.
On March 20, 2012, Mangalcal Elementary School and Mangalcal National High School in the Municipality of Carmen received 260 pieces of armchairs and 100 pieces of kiddie chairs.
The same number was also given to Lorenzo Sarmiento, Sr. National High School in Mawab, Compostela Valley last March 21, 2012.
New Corella Central Elementary School on March 22, 2012 received 216 armchairs, 42 desks and 100 kiddie chairs.
For the record, delivery report from August 2011 to March 23, 2012 just a short span of time for seven months, a total of 32,040 pieces of school furniture (armchairs, desks, kiddie chairs, teacher tables, computer and working table) were already distributed by the Local Government of Tagum thru the initiative of City of Tagum Mayor Rey T. Uy which fabricates school chairs from confiscated logs and are later distributed for free to different schools as part of his Social Responsibility to its neighboring Cities and Municipalities in Davao Region.
