Marex Villarica Beach Resort is a resort with a social conscience. It is located in Barangay Tambo, Babak District. The view never fails to amaze me. The place is beautiful and quiet.

It is a one welcome reprieve in the major stretches of white sand beaches in the Island Garden City of Samal.

Aside from a clean white sand beach where you can enjoy, relax and have fun, it has a fishpond surrounded by native-style thatched cottages. Fishing, beach volleyball, videoke, casual dining and lounging are just a few things guest can take on at the resort.

The resort, however, charges a minimal entrance fee of PhP35, consumable within the resort and PhP55 for overnight visitors.

There are fishing and boating facilities at the resort. You can enjoy fishing and just pay PhP100 in every kilogram of fish you caught.

Marex is a jump off point towards Vanishing Island. From the name itself, it is an islet that literally vanished during high tide. Boats from Marex to Vanishing Island are available. It can fit up to eight people.

At low tide the shallow waters extend for hundreds of meters from the shore.

Soon Marex will build a little port so that guests can go to their boat without having to wade the wet sand during low tide.

Marex allows to bring foods without corkage except for lechon (PhP200). Beverages such as softdrinks and beer are not allowed. But is available in the canteen at an affordable price.
