    443 Tagumeños graduate in LGU’s skills training program

    CITY OF TAGUM, DAVAO DEL NORTE—443 Tagumeños recently graduated in the Community-Based Skills Training Program last October 19, 2013 held at the Tagum City Pavilion.

     

    Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon led local government leaders in congratulating the graduates who spent grueling days in learning different trade areas under the said skills training program offered by LGU Tagum in coordination with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

     

    While there are 443 Tagumeños who graduated in the program, actual certifications awarded during the graduation ceremony is tagged at 990, as there are persons who enrolled in the different trade areas.

     

    The graduates spent five consecutive weekends to take up the course with an actual application, said Community Training and Employment Coordinator Warlito Obejero, the program’s in-charge under the Public Employment Services Office.

     

    The breakdown of the graduates is as follows: Massage Therapy (45), Slaughtering Operation (60), Electrical Installation and Maintenance (152), Plumbing (135), Masonry (127), Carpentry (133), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (157), Food and Beverage Service Attendant (90), Motorcycle Mechanics (16) and Automotive Servicing (75).

     

    Joining Mayor Rellon in congratulating the graduates are Vice Mayor Geterito Gementiza and Councilor Nicandro Suaybaguio, Jr. who sits as the chairperson of the Committee on Education and Culture.
