The Archdiocese of Davao is organizing a relief support operation for the earthquake victims of Bohol.
The City Government of Davao, together with the dioceses of Digos, Tagum and Mati,in partnership with the business community, schools, lay movements and well-meaning citizens of Davao comprise Oplan Tabang Bohol. The immediate response is to address the needs of our brothers and sisters affected by the7.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked the Visayas region, October 15.
Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles is appealing to the faithful of Davao to send immediate aid to the victims in the form of relief goods such as: canned goods,rice, noodles, milk, medicine, coffee, sugar, salt, cooking oil. Materials for shelter like trapal, mats (banig), flashlights/batteries, toiletries like soap or laundry detergents are also encouraged.
Archdiocesan Social Action Center (ASAC) Director Fr. Leonardo Dublan, Jr. said donors are encouraged to bring their goods at the GSIS Subdivision Covered Court, Matina,Davao City (near GSIS Parish Church). Due to the limited volume allocation, bottled waters are discouraged.
