Davao Light and Power Co. will conduct two sets of 30-minute switching power interruptions on April 17 and 21, affecting downtown Davao City, and the northern and southern parts of the company’s franchise.
Communication Officer Ross Luga said that the scheduled outages are necessary to facilitate the Preventive Maintenance Servicing of Davao Light’s ERA Substation and its 138KV transmission line for a more reliable power supply.
To keep the power interruptions within the least possible time, loads connected to ERA substation will be transferred to nearby substations on April 17, Thursday, anytime between 12:01 a.m. to 01:00 a.m.. Normalization or return of loads back to its normal set-up will be on April 21, Monday, anytime between 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m..
Areas affected by these service disruptions are from SIR Sandawa, Matina going to north including city proper, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Agdao, Buhangin, Cabantian, Lanang, Sasa, Panacan, Tibungco, Bunawan, Lasang up to Sto. Tomas in Davao del Norte including Panabo City, and the municipalities of Carmen, Kapalong and Dujali.
Also affected are from Ulas Police Station going to URC in Bago Aplaya, Puan and areas in Libby Road, Baliok,
Catalunan Pequeño, Mintal and Tugbok.
Davao City Water District’s pumping stations located in the above mentioned areas will also experience the said service disruptions.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience of these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
