To start off the week, we’d like to share some news about Globe and its continuous efforts in strengthening its network.
To provide access to voice, SMS and data services even in the midst of natural calamities, Globe has strengthened the resiliency of its network and protection system by redesigning its wireless network and establishing system and site redundancy.
Globe has also enhanced the design of its infrastructures in typhoon-stricken areas by introducing the use of a tower solution that accelerates service restoration. The company is also expanding the deployment of “cell on wheels”—mobile cell sites that provide expanded coverage and capacity during special events or emergencies.
Strengthening the resiliency of its network is part of Globe’s transformation initiative, which has so far enabled the company to become the first to achieve 100% 3G coverage. The entire Globe network would also be fully equipped with the more advanced 4G HSPA+ technology—enhancing speed and performance—by September this year.
