CHO & DOH Davao: Ice Bucket Challenge Is Safe

    169

Officials of Davao City Health Office (CHO) and Department of Health (DOH) Region XI confirmed safety of the ice bucket challenge as long as the person is in good health condition. Those with heart problems should not take the challenge because the coldness of the water may cause their blood vessels to constrict and it is fatal for them.

The ice bucket challenge is an activity which involves dumping an ice bucket into someone’s head in order to promote awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) which is a nerve cell disorder, and also to encourage donations.
