The iconic Graphic Magazine, the country’s oldest socio-political weekly, will feature in its cover the colorful and controversial Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte in an issue which will be published third week of February.
The Graphic editorial team, led by its Editor-In-Chief Joel Salud, flew to Davao City last week of January to interview Mayor Duterte in preparation for the publication of the magazine which will have several articles about Davao City.
I have been asked to write the cover story which will be about Rody Duterte, the person and the leader, while Salud will write a Question and Answer article about the Mayor and his thoughts on important issues.
Davao City-based Graphic writer Henrylito Tacio will write two articles which will feature the city’s security operations highlighting the 911 Emergency Response System and another article on the House of Hope, a halfway center for children suffering from cancer.
The House of Hope which is located inside the compound of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) is a special charity work of Mayor Duterte.
Housing children with cancer coming from all over Mindanao, Duterte spends his birthdays and Christmas with them, even personally buying them toys and presents.
The Graphic Magazine will be in the newstands third week of February and has a cover price of P75.
