Tagum To Host BSP’s Nat’l Council Confab

TAGUM CITY – Around 800 scout leaders from 118 local scouts council nationwide will troop to Tagum City on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 for the two-day 59th Annual National Council Meeting (ANCM) of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) that will be hosted by the BSP Tagum City Council and the City Government of Tagum.

No less than Vice President and BSP National President Jejomar Binay will lead in the annual conference of scout leaders consisting of the members of the National Executive Board, charter members, regional commissioners and chairmen and commissioners of all local scout councils in the Philippines.

During the conference, Binay is expected to render a report on BSP’s accomplishments for the past year while the national treasurer will also deliver the organization’s financial reports.

Based on a DepEd Memorandum signed by DepEd Sec. Armin Luistro, four regular members of the National Executive Board—the governing body of BSP—will also be elected during the conference.

The National Court of Honor will also be staged during the two-day event at Big 8 Corporate Hotel.

Meanwhile, Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon, who also acts as the chairperson of the fledgling BSP Tagum City Council, assured that all systems are in place of the city’s hosting of the big national event, fresh from its co-hosting of the 2015 Palarong Pambansa.

Rellon said that during the event, Tagum will officially submit before the National Executive Board its intention to host the 2015 National Jamboree this October 2015. Louie Lapat/CIO Tagum
