Wow! That would probably be the first word you would utter upon entering Flushing Meadows Resort & Playground in Brgy Dao. in Dauis, Bohol.
About 20-minutes away from the Tagbilaran City Aiport and pier, Flushing Meadows & Playground is one of the best and most luxurious hotels in Panglao, Bohol. With an area of 18,000 sq.m., 99 air-conditioned rooms, a breathtaking view of the Pamilacan Island and the Mindanao Sea and second to none customer service, this resort should definitely be on top of your list if you’re looking for a place to stay in Panglao. I stayed at this tropical oasis for 3 days and 2 nights and although I fell off the pool stairs and had broken toenails (I know, I’m clumsy like that), I still give this resort a 5-star rating.
A Little History About Flushing Meadows Resort & Playground
If the name Flushing Meadows Resort & Playground rings a bell to you, that’s because this unspoiled piece of heaven is named after the Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. Being tennis aficionados themselves, the owners thought of naming their paradise after the park that is the home to the US Tennis open. The resort boasts a vast lush of greenery that resembles the park that inspired it.
Features & Amenities
Flushing Meadows Resort & Playground has 99 air-conditioned rooms. I booked my sister and I a standard room, but we were upgraded to a superior deluxe room near the infinity pool for free. How cool is that?

The Food
The food in Flushing Meadows Resort & Playground is exquisite that I had to dig in and indulge without taking pictures first. The dishes were also not too expensive, considering the big servings.
The Fitness Gym
I wasn’t able to go and use Flushing Meadow’s gym since I exchanged my morning run with a morning swim during my stay there. But here’s a picture of their gym courtesy of the resort:
Sport & Recreational Facilities
Other facilities
Flushing Meadows Resort & Playground has a wide array of facilities and features, which sadly I was not able to cover because I got sick, including:
- the spa
- the bambook park
- the videoke
- the fishing area
Superb Customer Service
As I’ve mentioned, I fell off the stairs near the pool (be careful!) so on the second day of my stay at Flushing Meadows, I wasn’t feeling well. I broke some of my toenails and my ankles were painful. Although I managed to work that day and even go to Bohol Bee Farm, I was knocked down in the afternoon. But thanks heavens because Jahara in the front desk went out of her way to call the Manager and ask if my mother, who was in another town in Bohol, can come and stay in my room even if she’s not checked-in to look after me. She also let me borrow a bottle of efficascent.
How to Get Here
Flushing Meadows is located at the other side of Panglao Island. To get here, you will need to take a taxi/tricycle/motorbike from Tagbilaran. The fare would cost around Php 300. You may request to get picked-up from the airport or pier. This is the most convenient way to get to the resort.
