Davao City is the overall top five Most Competitive City and Davao del Sur as the Most Competitive Province for the year 2015 in the latest annual competitiveness index among cities and provinces in the Philippines. It was conducted by the National Competitiveness Council (NCC).
At least 1,120 local government units participated in this year’s National Competitiveness using 28 equally weighted indicators grouped as three pillars, namely; economic dynamism, government efficiency, and infrastructure.
There were 142 cities and 978 municipalities evaluated. Davao del Sur outstood both the Provinces of Cebu and Misamis Oriental for the honor to be awarded as the “Most Competitive Province” with an overall score of 46.11.
Meanwhile, Davao City was hailed as the country’s no. 5 most competitive city next to Manila, Makati, Cebu, and Quezon.
