It can’t be denied that Filipinos dominate the Digital world. From Social Networking Sites (SNS) to virtual firms, Filipinos top the most number of people active online.

In this year’s Global Digital report suite gathered by the media company, We Are Social and a social media management platform, Hootsuite, there were more than 67 million Filipino active internet users. It’s about 63% or more than half of the country’s population.

Also, Filipinos still holds the crown for users who spend more time on social media site spending approximately 4 hours online. Who won’t? With the advent of new technologies like smartphones and with the continuous efforts of telecommunication companies to boost up the ever sluggish internet speed of the country, more and more Filipinos are able to connect online.

First, Social Media. As it becomes part of our daily routines, Social Media has become our main tool to register our digital footprints. Every post you drop on Facebook, photos you share on Instagram or even your 280-word limit tweet on Twitter, social networking system can record everything you do on social media. Thus, the more time you spend on social media, the larger your digital footprint will be.
