Books are vehicles in nourishing the minds. A new established public street library in Davao City aims to encourage people in reading books amidst of the digital era.
Lib of Positivity Davao allows more people to enjoy reading. It is a street library located at Bolcan St. Agdao, near Assumption Church.
Enzo Puentespina, the man behind this project, eyes on influencing the kids to help them develop their love for books.
“The goal of the library is to give children in the community the opportunity to read. We also aim to develop the people’s honesty and responsibility with the mechanics,” Enzo said during an interview with Davao Eagle Online.
“The inspiration of the library was a picture of a small shelf with books on a street that I saw on google images a few years ago,” he added.
Moreover, the initiative of the said project started with Enzo and his mom. At present, his entire family is already helping him.
As of now, the library does not have a lot of books yet. If you have old books to share, do not hesitate to donate. You can visit the street library to drop them.
For those who are interested to donate but based in Manila, you can also bring your good books to Puentespina Orchids, Cedar Hills Garden Center, 57 Mother Ignacia St., Barangay Paligsahan, Quezon City.
