Outstanding Barangays Recognized

Magdum Barangay Captain Ma. Teresa Reambonanza together with her Barangay Functionaries receives the plaque of recognition for her barangay, which was adjudged as 1st placer in the Barangay Excellence Awards (Urban Category). Mayor Allan L. Rellon, Vice-Mayor Geterito T. Gementiza and City DILG Director Eliza P. Mendoza awarded the said plaque along with other city officials.

TAGUM CITY—Using the Local Government Performance Management System, the city’s 23 barangays were evaluated independently based on their performance in governance along the areas of Administration, Social Services, Economic Development and Environmental Management.

The performance evaluation saw Barangays La Filipina and San Agustin placing 2nd on the Urban and Rural Categories, respectively, while Magupo East and Canocotan earned enough points to secure the 3rd place of the competition’s respective Urban and Rural Categories.

On the other hand, the 1st Place for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award- Urban Category was handed to Barangay La Filipina that will consequently represent Tagum in the regional edition of the competition.

Other barangay winners of the aforesaid Incentive Awards were Barangay Magugpo Poblacion and Barangay Pandapan who received the 2nd place for urban and rural categories, respectively, the urban category’s 3rd placers – Magugpo South and Magugpo West, as well as the rural category’s Barangay San Agustin.

Mayor Allan L. Rellon, Vice-Mayor Geterito T. Gementiza and City DILG Director Eliza P. Mendoza awarded the said plaque along with other city officials.

The cash prizes of P50,000.00 for the 1st placers, P30,000.00 for the 2ndplace winners and P15,000.00 for the 3rd placers were also given out to all winning barangays.

In the same occasion, insurance were also given to more than 400 barangay tanods in the city, as well as uniform vests courtesy of the City Government of Tagum.

La Filipina Barangay Captain Rudy Corpuz together with his Barangay Functionaries receives the plaque of recognition from city officials led Mayor Allan L. Rellon, Vice-Mayor Geterito T. Gementiza and City DILG Director Eliza P. Mendoza awarded the said plaque after having adjudged as the 1st placer for the Search for the Best Lupong Tagamapayapa in Tagum City. As the winner, Barangay La Filipina will represent Tagum in the Regional Level of the same competition.
