The 16th Miss Earth, an International Environmental Event channeling the beauty pageant entertainment industry as an effective tool to promote environmental awareness, is to be held here in the Philippines on October 29, 2016. But before the coronation night, there are a lot of scheduled pre-pageant activities for the candidates and one of their tours was held last Monday in Davao City.
The beautiful ladies of Miss Earth 2016 spent time at SM Lanang Premier. They were welcomed at the atrium with a visual display of our very own crops.
SM also showcased to the ladies the Davao’s iconic Waling-waling, the orchid that is considered to be the “Queen of Philippine flowers” and a folk dance number from our very own Davao talents.
Each candidate gave their wonderful introduction speech with their name, age and country they represent at the stage. They also charmed the audience wearing their fashion clothing on the runway.
We joined them as they visit and shop for local finds at Kultura, a retailer of uniquely Filipino home accents, fashion statement pieces, souvenirs and delicacies. They were welcomed by a special number from the staff dancing cultural song and to our surprised the ladies danced along to the folk songs.
They also had a great shopping experience at The SM Store. The ladies checked out bags, clothing, jewelries and other products using their Tourist Privilege Card while allowing fellow Davao shoppers to take pictures and selfies with them. We were fortunate to have a Live Video Coverage.
They ended the tour with a picture taking outside the mall with their shopping bags full of filipino items and great smiles from the hospitality of SM Lanang staff and fellow shoppers.
Now on it’s 16th year, MISS EARTH continues “Legacy for Beauty and Responsibility” around the world. Get to know the delegates and their schedule of activities here.
