With the current critical power supply situation in Mindanao, Davao Light & Power Co. tries its best to manage electricity distribution efficiently among its customers.

Inits effort of providing for a more equitable sharing of the remainingavailable power, Davao Light and Power Co. introduces a new rotatingpower interruption scheme.

Starting Monday, March3, the existing schedule per group will be rotated for the wholeweek. Example, if your schedule in the past scheme is between 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, you will now be in the 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM schedule fo rtwo consecutive days.

Davao Light hasimplemented one-hour rotating power interruptions in its franchisesince February 27. This, however, may extend up to two hours depending on the availability of power on a given schedule. It willcontinue until notice from the National Grid Corporation of thePhilippines (NGCP) to lift its implementation is received.

Implementation of the rotating outages contributes to avoiding total collapse of the entire Mindanao transmission grid, which happens when the demand for power exceeds the available supply.

Davao Light apologizes to its consumers for the inconvenience brought about by these power interruptions which are beyond its control.
